The most recently created of the St.Helens Golf Clubs, The North West National Golf and country club has a championship golf course set in 260 acres of parkland alongside the Rainford Bypass in St.Helens. Along with the 18 hole championship course they also have a 9 hole, par 3, academy course and an 80 bay driving range. There is a large golfing store, "Rainford Golf Superstore" at the driving range site as well as ‘Bunkers Cafe’, the Sean Bailey golf school is also based at the driving range site.

Ashton in Makerfied Golf Club
Ashton in Makerfied Golf Club was founded in 1902 in Bryn but relocated in 1946 to Garswood Park. The Clubhouse has been completely refurbished and has excellent views over the course. Eccleston Park Golf Club
Eccleston Park Golf Club is a parkland course situated in Rainhill, on the outskirts of St.Helens.After being redeveloped over the past two years, the course is now a testing 6477 yard par 71.
Eccleston Park golf course is reasonably flat and therefore easy going on all golfers, especially the more senior player.

Grange Park Golf Club
Designed by James Braid in 1891, Grange Park Golf course is an 18 hole golf course set in undulating rural setting between Taylor Park and Eccleston Mere. The Clubhouse and car park are accessed via Prescot Road in Toll Bar, St.Helens.

Haydock Park Golf Club
Actually now based in Goldborne Park, Newton Le Willows, as the club was moved to new land in 1922 though was originally at Haydock Park from 1877 until 1922. The present course was designed by the famous golf course architect James Braid.Haydock Park golf club is one of the North West’s premier golf clubs; it’s tree lined fairways and well bunkered greens make scoring well a real challenge for both high and low handicappers. Visitors are welcome every day during the week except Tuesdays (Ladies Competition Day) and weekends.

Founded in 1905, Huyton and Prescot Golf Club has a 5,893 yard par 68 course. With only one par 5 and five very testing par 3’s the course is deceptively quite difficult.Among the extensive facilities at Huyton and Prescot Golf Club are all day catering,extensive changing facilities, security lockers for visitors, showers and towels, Pro’s shop, practice area with bunker and green, putting green and a chipping area.

Mersey Valley Golf Club
The Mersey Valley Golf and Country Club, in Bold Heath, was successfully completed in the spring of 1995. Since then the Clubhouse and course have continued to progress and grow and the course currently enjoying a reputation as one of the best golf courses in the area. The course was designed and constructed by St Mellion Leisure the development side of St Mellion International. Gently undulating with no hills or gradients and therefore attractive to golfers of all ages and abilities.The Mersey Valley Golf Club also has two well stocked fishing lakes for anglers. Sherdley Park Golf Club
Sherdley Park Golf Club is an 18 hole parkland course, set in Sherdley Park.Opened in 1973, the course at Sherdley Park measures 5912 yards and, with a par of 71, provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities.
Sherdley Park Golf course is one of the best kept municipal parkland courses in the North West and is open daily throughout the year from light until dusk. Situated on the opposite side of Sherdley Park, there is also a modern 12 bay driving range with the very latest Power Tee automated tee system.
Sherdley Park Golf driving range is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 8.00pm and weekends and bank holidays 9.00am to 4.00pm.
